Sweet Summertime

Summer is officially here and I am loving it. The hot weather, beach and pool trips, the late days. I am a summer girl. This summer so far has been rather busy. The week after I finished up my junior year we left for Kiawah Island, SC with my family. It is about 40 minutes outside of Charleston. It was so much fun. We went on a horse and carriage tour, went to Fort Moultrie (we visited Fort Sumter last summer), and ate at some wonderful seafood restaurants. David and I also went on a dolphin tour of the harbor. It wasn't what we expected (the boat only held 4 people and we were imagining bigger) but it ended up being alot of fun and our captain was very knowledgeable about Charleston.
After our trip to Kiawah we went camping with our good friends Brian and Jen. We went up to Rock Island State Park. We went hiking and we let our dogs take a dip in the water. It was Abby's first time swimming and lets just say she wasn't very graceful at it ;-)
It is already July and I am dreading going back to school at the end of August, but that is still 2 months away and I am excited to see what the rest of this summer holds!

Moments in Life

Me and my husband are in a small group at church with 4 other couples. We have such a great time together. We get together to eat and study the Bible and have fun. We do Christmas parties, girls/guys nights, and superbowl parties. We go to the movies and go out to eat together. We are there for each other in general. I think it is so important to have people who you can celebrate with or mourn with. Right now our small group is experiencing both. We are celebrating together as one couple in our small group is days away from having a baby, but mourning with another couple who just found out they had a 2nd miscarriage. It is so exciting for one sad for the other but the great part about it is that we are there for each other in both times.

The Weather

Ok, Tennessee has now had 3 snows that have stuck on the ground pretty well. This is unheard of. As one of the little 2nd graders in my class put it "If global warming is happening then why have we got so much snow this year?" I enjoy the snow. It is pretty and makes the world look clean. I definitely prefer snow to it just being cold and raining...but I am a warm weather girl. I love warm weather...I love hot weather. 90 degrees makes me hot but doesn't really bother me. At least I can wear shorts and a t-shirt to cope with it. As much as I try to bundle up in cold weather I can never get quite warm enough. I constantly wear long johns or put on slippers and a house coat when at home but I always seem to be cold. Alright that is enough about my thoughts on the weather...I know no one is probably reading this but it seems weird to not say good bye....so good bye and talk to you later.

a change

Ok so previously this blog was for a class where I had to talk about technology and its use in the classroom, but now that the class is over I am thinking I will allow myself to post on just about anything on here. It may still occassionally be a forum where I talk about school stuff, but I would like for it also to be a place where I can just talk about life and whatever else. I don't really think anyone will be reading these posts so I guess they are more for myself (if I keep up with it) as a way to express myself.
So first topic...New Year Resolutions. I am all for New Year's resolutions although I don't usually make any. This year I decided to make a small one...my new years resolution is that I will exercise at least 3 days a week. I enjoy exercising and feel alot better when I exercise so it is kind of like making sure I get 20 minutes of "me time" every week. Downside: for me to make myself do this I have to get up at 5:15 or else I know I will just put it off all day. So far I have kept this resolution...this week exercising 5 days 20 minutes each. However it is still January and everyone is still keeping their resolutions so it isn't that big of a deal. If we get to April and I am still keeping it then I will proud of myself.
